Ryan Kusuhara’s journey to be a lawyer began when he was about fifteen years old. Ryan’s father was a well-regarded dentist in Japan, and in Canada he retired and would make Ryan fix his teeth. Unfortunately, Ryan was told: “son, you do not have any talent as a dentist. Why don’t you become a lawyer or something.”  
And so, when Ryan’s childhood dream to be a baseball player met reality, he decided he needed a more pragmatic career to make money somehow.  
Ryan studied Molecular Biology, Criminology and Ethics at the Trinity College of the University of Toronto. He has graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours.  
After his graduation he worked in Calgary, Alberta for about one year. He worked as a scientist by day identifying genes of meats sold in grocery stores and as a fuel stand attendant at a truck stop at night.  
Ryan then studied law and obtained his Juris Doctor’s degree at the University of Windsor. He was inspired, in particular, by Professor Marcela Aroca who demonstrated that one can be a very kind individual while engaging in the practice of law.   Following his graduation Ryan articled for a boutique personal injury law firm, Bungay Law Office. He later joined Panorama Legal LLP as an associate lawyer and was mentored by Peter Buxton, K.C. Ryan became a partner of Panorama Legal LLP in 2023 and the managing director of Panorama Law Group in 2024.
